Connect & Integrate Mosyle Manager

Introduction
This guide explains how to connect YeshID with Mosyle Manager.
At the time of writing, YeshID’s Mosyle Manager integration supports importing users, creating users, updating users, deleting users, and locking devices. YeshID connects to Mosyle using Mosyle’s API login flow, so you will need an Access Token and an admin email/password with API permissions.
Steps
Log in to Mosyle Manager.
In Mosyle, navigate to My School > API Integration.
Enable your API profile.
Copy the Access Token from Mosyle.
Confirm the admin account you plan to use has API permissions. YeshID needs:
Access Token
Admin Email
Admin Password
In YeshID, open the Mosyle Manager application and start the integration setup.
Enter your Mosyle credentials in YeshID:
Access Token
Admin Email
Admin Password
Choose a User ID Source:
YeshID User ID: Recommended for most organizations
Primary Email: Use this if you want newly created Mosyle user IDs to match email addresses
Enter Available Locations as a comma-separated list.
Use the exact school or location names you want admins to choose from when creating users in YeshID.
Save the integration.
If you want YeshID to create users in Mosyle, make sure each user is assigned the correct application role in YeshID.
Student users also require a Grade Level.To import users from Mosyle, run a sync in YeshID.
To create a user in Mosyle from YeshID, add the user to the application and choose:
the correct role
a School / Location
a Grade Level if the role is Student
To lock a device, use the Mosyle lock device action in YeshID. Depending on your workflow, you can provide device UDIDs directly or let YeshID look up the user’s devices.
FAQ
Why do I need both an Access Token and an admin email/password?
Mosyle requires a login request before API actions can run. YeshID uses your Access Token, admin email, and admin password to retrieve a temporary bearer token behind the scenes.
What actions does the YeshID integration support today?
The integration currently supports:
Import users
Create user
Update user
Delete user
Lock device
Do I need to configure locations in YeshID?
Yes. Mosyle requires a school/location assignment for Students, Teachers, and Staff. YeshID uses the Available Locations list you enter during setup to populate the dropdown.
When is Grade Level required?
Grade Level is required for Student users. It is optional for Teacher and Staff users.
What should I choose for User ID Source?
We recommend YeshID User ID for most organizations because it is more stable over time. Choose Primary Email only if you specifically want newly created Mosyle user IDs to match email addresses.
What does the lock device action do?
The lock device action sends Mosyle’s device lock command. Depending on how you configure it, you can also include a lock message, phone number, or PIN.
