Adding the YeshID Slack Bot
Last updated: July 6, 2026
Connecting the YeshID bot to Slack lets your team submit and respond to access requests, and get task notifications, right inside Slack — including the /request command. It takes two steps: connect Slack, then add YeshID as a notification destination.
Step 1: Connect Slack (prerequisite)
If Slack isn't connected yet:
In YeshID, go to Access > Applications.
Click Slack, then Connect.
Click Authenticate and pick the correct Slack workspace.
Click Allow to grant access.
If you're logged into multiple Slack workspaces in this browser, double-check you're authorizing the right one.
Step 2: Add YeshID as a notification destination
This is the step that turns on the bot for access requests.
Go to Settings > Notifications.
Click Add to Slack.
Pick your Slack workspace and click Allow.
Once connected, YeshID will:
DM task assignees when they have a relevant notification (like a workflow task or an approval).
Let users submit and respond to access requests in Slack — including typing
/requestto ask for an app.
Step 3 (optional): Add a shared notifications channel
To send notifications to a shared channel instead of only DMs:
In Slack, add the @yeshid bot to the channel you want (type
@yeshidin the channel and choose Add to Channel, then confirm).Back in YeshID, pick your newly added channel under the notification settings.
That's it
Your team can now type /request in Slack to request access to an application, and approvers can approve or deny right from Slack. For the full request-and-approval flow, see Access Requests with YeshID.
