Getting your Source of Truth into YeshID

Overview

When you're getting started with YeshID, the first thing you should do is get your Source of Truth (list of access of who has access to what, today) into YeshID.

To help: There are 3 ways to import the current state of application access into YeshID

  1. Import Users via App Connection

  2. Import Users via CSV

  3. Import Users via Screenshot

Import Users via App Connection

💡 Use this approach if:

Your application is in our app catalogue, and if the application makes it easy to connect.

Try this approach first, and if that fails - move to the manual mechanisms below..

For this example we're going to pick Slack .

1. Go to Applications

2. Click on Add application

💡 The pills indicate functionality

User Access indicates the ability to provide access to users via Invite link.

SCIM indicates the ability to set-up SCIM user management*

3. Click on highlight

4. Type in highlight

5. Click on Slack

6. Pick a Technical Owner (TO)

7. Click on Add

8. Click on Slack

9. Click on Connect

10. Click on Authenticate

Keep Slack set to integration type Prebuilt . This indicates that YeshID is able to connect to this app easily.

11. Click on YeshID Community

12. Click on T's Tangerines

13. Click on Allow

14. Click on ON

15. Click on Integration

16. Congratulations, your users are not kept in sync automatically.

Import Users via CSV

💡 Use this approach if:

Your SaaS Application provides an easy way to export a CSV or list of users. YeshID really only needs access to a column containing emails

17. Download the list of users from your Application's users page.

Most applications will have an "Export" or "Download" button

18. Go to Access Accounts | YeshID

19. Click on Import Users

20. Click on or drag and drop

21. Click on Import

22. Click on Confirm changes

23. Congratulations, your users are now imported for this app.

Import Users via Screenshot

💡 Use this approach if:

Your application doesn't have an easy to export a list or CSV of users; BUT does provide a screenshot with email addresses.

24. Take a screenshot containing a list of users (with email addresses) from your application.

25. Click into your Application

26. Click on Manage

27. Click on Import Users

28. Drop your screenshot into the file picker.

29. Click on Import

30. Click on Confirm changes

31. Congratulations, your users should now be imported by screenshot.
